It is twice the size of the other Hawaiian Islands put together thanks to Kilauea, the world's most active volcano which continues to add land mass to the island. "The Big Island" is a very diverse island in that it houses 11 of the 13 climate regions. Here visitors can experience tropical rain forests, bone-dry desert conditions and snow-capped mountains all in the course of one day.
